About
A healthcare operation should not have to hire in proportion to its paperwork.
OpsMed (Pty) Ltd is a South African company. We build a governed AI workforce for healthcare operations: agents that carry the repeatable administration a practice runs on, so that growing throughput does not mean growing administrative headcount at the same rate.
The work we take is the work that repeats. Patient access and intake, scheduling and capacity, revenue cycle, records and documentation, procurement and inventory, quality and compliance. What we deliberately do not take is clinical judgement, patient empathy, exceptions, and the approvals that carry accountability. Those stay with the people answerable for them, and the system is built to make that boundary explicit rather than to blur it.
Autonomy is earned rather than granted. Every task is classified by risk, and an agent acts on its own, proposes an action for approval, or asks a person, according to that classification and its record. Everything an agent does carries an identity and a sign-off, so a decision can be traced back after the fact by someone who was not in the room.
We run a practice of our own
Reya Health is a business unit of OpsMed: a doctor-owned South African telehealth practice providing doctor-prescribed weight-loss treatment. Patients complete a health questionnaire, consult a doctor registered with the HPCSA by video, and are treated and followed up from their phone.
It exists as a practice, not a demonstration. It carries real patients, real health records and the obligations that come with both, under POPIA and the National Health Act. That is the point of it: a governance model for agents in healthcare is worth very little until something with real consequences is run on it.
